Seven of Lola Group’s employees, from design engineers to race car assemblers, have told the stories of their career journeys on camera to help inspire and advise young people who are about to join the working world.
The filming project is just one of hundreds of similar events taking place around the country to create a living archive of real-life careers stories created by icould, and managed by CRAC: the Career Development Organisation.

icould’s aim is to provide young people with real stories from real people talking candidly about their working lives in order to help them make the right choices about their own careers.
Its team of specially trained story-gatherers are travelling the length and breadth of the UK searching out interesting tales of inspiration, hard-work, tenacity, determination, education and, in a lot of cases, a healthy dose of good luck too!
Workers from jobs as diverse as cemetery supervisors to dress designers are taking part and the team at Lola Group were among the first to sign-up.
Sam Smith, Communications Manager for Lola Group said: “Our employees draw on a broad range of education and experience, and each plays a key part in the success of the diverse services our organisation delivers.
“This project gave us a chance to link up with young people in an innovative and inspiring way. We hope the stories filmed here not only encourage the young people who use the icould.com to find the right career path for them but also encourage other employers and employees to come forward and tell their stories.”
For the icould team working with the Lola Group team was a real coup, icould Director, David Arnold added: “Lola Group is very highly respected both within its sector and amongst its staff. We were delighted to have their support and hope that people watching the films will find them as inspiring as we did.”
